Beginning the Experience

Your session begins with intention.

A $350 creative session fee reserves your place on my calendar and allows time for thoughtful planning before we ever pick up a camera.

You’ll answer a few questions about your pet — not just what they look like, but who they are. What they love. What makes them feel safe.

From there, I guide you toward locations and timing that suit your pet’s personality and energy level. For outdoor sessions, we plan with flexibility in mind and choose a backup date, knowing Ohio weather is part of the process.

Before your session, you’ll receive simple, clear guidance so you arrive feeling prepared and confident.

THE SESSION ITSELF

The session unfolds slowly.

There is no expectation for your dog to perform or behave in any particular way. We start by letting them acclimate, explore, and settle. The camera comes second.

Your dog remains safely on leash throughout the session, with any visible gear removed later during editing. Safety and comfort always come first.

We move only as your dog allows, choosing spaces that feel calm and inviting. Breaks are taken as needed. We follow curiosity, reward effort, and honor boundaries. Some dogs shine through motion. Others through stillness. Both are equally valued here.

Often, the most meaningful images emerge in the in-between moments, when your dog forgets the camera entirely.

After your session, the work continues behind the scenes.

I carefully review your images and select the photographs that best reflect your dog’s personality and story. Rather than delivering an overwhelming gallery, I focus on the images with the strongest emotion, expression, and connection. Each selected photograph is individually finished with careful attention to tone and detail.

When your images are ready, you’ll be invited to a personal ordering appointment.

This is a calm, guided experience where you’ll see your portraits for the first time and decide how you’d like to preserve them. Together, we’ll review your images and design artwork that fits your home and the way you want to remember this chapter of your dog’s life.

Once your selections are finalized, your artwork is produced using museum-grade materials through professional labs. Every piece is fully guaranteed — if you don’t absolutely love your finished artwork, I will buy it back.
